4th of July Around the Bay 2024
Many Bay Area cities are ready to celebrate with their annual 4th of July celebrations and firework shows! Below is a list of confirmed events happening around the Bay Area with links to more information on each event. Note, * indicates a planned firework show.
 

Parades, Festivities, Fireworks & Drone Show

 
Alameda – Join the 4th of July 5k run at 9am, just before the parade begins. Beginning at 10am, it is the longest parade in the nation with a route that spans 3.3 miles, attracting more than 170 entries and 2,500 participants. For info on the parade and street closures can be found here. Festivities will also be held at the USS Hornet from 10 am to 5 pm with live music from Nashville Honeymoon. More info here.
 
Antioch* – The parade begins at 4:00pm. Visit Waldie Plaza to experience live entertainment and enjoy local food vendors and trucks. Have an exciting time with friends and family in the Games Zone located at City Hall, before picking your spot to see the big firework show that starts just after dusk. More info here.
 
Concord* – Fun run and parade! At 8 AM in Todos Santos Plaza, the stars and stripes kids fun run will start, followed by a parade at 10 then at 4pm at Mt. Diablo High School the gates will open for our Festival that will include Live Music, a Kids Carnival, local food, and vendor booths, and finally at 9:30 pm will be a Fireworks Spectacular over Concord. Danville – The Kiwanis 4th of July Parade starts at 9 am at San Ramon Valley High School & ends at Town & Country on San Ramon Blvd and will run 2.5 to 3 hours. More info here.
 
Foster City* – The celebration starts with a pancake breakfast hosted by the Foster City Rotary Club at 9 a.m. in the meadow at Leo Ryan Park followed by a full day featuring a dog parade, food, music, games, vendors, and entertainment culminating with an incredible fireworks show over the beautiful Lagoon. Fremont – Fremont will be hosting the annual 4th of July Parade at 10am. They will feature music and parade souvenirs. More info here.
 
Half Moon Bay – The Half Moon Bay Lions Club will be hosting its annual 4th of July Pancake Breakfast in the City Hall parking lot from 8 am to 11:30 am, tickets recommended. The parade begins at 12 pm on Main Street. More info here.
 
Healdsburg* – Join hundreds of other families and kids of all ages for the annual 4th of July Kids Parade and Duck Dash in the downtown Healdsburg Plaza on July 4th from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm followed by a parade, and Farmers' Market, and look to the skies above Healdsburg for fireworks expected to start between 9:30 pm - 10 pm. Livermore – NO FIREWORKS THIS YEAR. The City of Livermore and Livermore Area Recreation and Park District are introducing a new daytime celebration for the community on the fourth of July in lieu of a fireworks show. The Livermore Municipal Airport will host a daytime celebration from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with live music, tasty treats, comfort food, historic aircraft, kids activities and more!
 
Milpitas* – Concert, kids activities and fireworks from 5-9 p.m. at the Milpitas Sports Center, admission required (2+ years old). More info here.  
 
Moraga* – Moraga’s 4th of July festivities include a dog parade at 11 am, inflatable jumpies, food/wine/beer booths, a concert and fireworks at 9:30. More info here.
 
Oakland* - The Oakland A's will have their patriotic firework show following the game on July 3rd. Purchase tickets here.
 
Orinda – 7:30 am burrito breakfast, 8 am fun run followed by a parade at 10 am and music in the park at 11:30 am. Food trucks and beer booths on site. More info here.
 
Pleasant Hill* – Events will run throughout the city, including a 5K run, parade, live music, and fireworks at 8:45p.m. with a viewing party at College Park. More info here.
 
Redwood City* – Join the Redwood City Fire Department at the main Marshall Street fire station for a pancake breakfast. Breakfast is from 8-11 a.m., benefiting the Redwood City Firefighters Association. Breakfast is $10. The parade begins at 10am on Brewster Ave and at Courthouse Square in Downtown Redwood City, a chalk art show will take place. Fireworks start at 9:30 PM at the Port of Redwood City. San Francisco* A celebration on Pier 39 will take place throughout the day, with family-friendly activities, entertainment, live music, and a fireworks show that begins at 9:30 pm. More info here.
 
San Jose* –  ***FIREWORK SHOW ON JULY 3RD*** More info here. The annual Rose, White and Blue parade and a fireworks show at Discovery Meadow returns. The parade will take place along Shasta Ave and kicks off at 9:45 am and is expected to last until 3 pm with live music, a car show, food trucks, and many opportunities to grab souvenirs. San Ramon – The Fourth of July celebration concert features The Boys of Summer, an Eagles Tribute Band. The event will feature pop and soul music and dancing. It will be at the San Ramon Central Park from 5 pm – 8 pm. More info here.
 
Santa Clara* – Enjoy fireworks at Great America at park closing at 9:45 pm accompanied by a patriotic soundtrack. More info here.
 
Sonoma* – Named the eighth best 4th of July celebrations in the country by Travel+Leisure Magazine & Yahoo News, Sonoma’s 4th of July Celebration includes games, a festival, parade, food, and a fireworks show. The parade begins at 10 am and will make its way around the town’s historic Plaza. After the parade, an old-fashioned festival will take place with food, drinks and game booths provided by nonprofit organizations in Sonoma. All proceeds raised from the festival benefit Sonoma's community. The 4th of July festival concludes around 5 pm when all eyes shift to the skies at dusk above General Vallejo’s field for the spectacular fireworks show that lasts approximately 45 minutes. Vallejo* – Annual 4th of July parade at 11 am and includes classic cars, a live music, family-friendly activities and cultural performances. In addition, Mare Island has their own festive events including a magic show beginning at 6:15 and drone show (not fireworks) at 9:30. More info here and for Mare Island festivities here

  • Leave fireworks to the professionals
  • Fireworks cause 17,000 fires every year
  • Kids under 4 followed by kids aged 10-14 are the most often injured
  • Over 10,000 people are hurt every year
  • Sparklers burn at a temperature of 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit or warmer, glow sticks are a fun and safe alternative
  • Keep your pets indoors as they can easily be frightened by loud noises
